Some searching pulled up several easy fixes editing GRUB. X won’t start with kernel modesettingeither automatically or from runlevel 3. And I also tried Peppermint and it sluggished a bit too sometimes.

I’ve Googled, searched Ask Ubuntu and also spent time on the forums looking for a solution. My experience has been positive even nitel I find my computer with lower perfomance under any Linux distribution compared to Windows 7 or 8.
So regarding poor perfomance with the GMA MHD under Linux there isn’t much i can do with it drivers other than buying a new laptop with a better graphic card? Apparently, was and still is a concern in Natty?
